the real challenge is to intelligently address the issues within the present setup.
if the people speaking the same language cannot satisfactorily resolve their problems and redress the grievances of all the sections,how will the same be done by the various languages and regions of india.
it has been done so far for the last sixty two years;what has happened now for that process of co habitation and co operation to shut down.
the attitude that is needed from all sides is one of humility and partnership.
the same is present at the national level in the present time and for the future to be secure and stable,the people of andhra and telengana will have to resolve all the issues in the spirit of common sense.

it is better that the congress stayed away from him as he would have felt dwarfed by the presence of the senior partner.there would not have been a stable balance with soren always feeling insecure and other players making moves to upstage him and present other permutations to the congress.
with the bjp,soren has the ideal partner in that the bjp is not an entity with which soren can develop complexes.
they are as desperate for power and are inclined to grasp the chance to stay connected to power.
it is all upto soren now;how he divides the turf with the bjp should be done first and foremost.
the congress has its hands full in needing to provide a model opposition.

what jharkhand proves is that any new state will witness the fight for power and will take quite a few terms to see the coalescence into stable forces.the process is not contributing to the longer good in any great way;in the first place,what is the necessity for the newer state if it were not for better governance.
k chandrasekara rao has gone about things in the totally wrong manner without evolving the consensus that would have provided a stable beginning.although most members from all parties have been for the formation of the new state,the jousting will surely begin if and when it happens.
the centre can unveil a timebound package for telengana,a ten year plan,and if results are not fruitful,the bifurcation of the state can be thought about then.
for now,some imaginative plans to reverse the so called exploitation would be accepted by the people of telengana.some things like land acquisition at vastly increased rates or a fast track package to accelerate development can still be a victory for k chandrasekara rao.

why telengana did not materialise

by talking about exploitation,the trs has lost its raison d' etre.
if unjust exploitation is there,it is the job of the trs as a political party to oppose it.to raise it when a separate state is being asked for is to reduce the debate to a level where the trs can only expect its bluff to be called.actually,there is a need for the centre to step up its campaign against such opportunistic dramas.
it is upto the trs to demonstrate why there cannot be equitable development within a single state.in the absence of a case,there will not be a bifurcation.
veerappa moily has rightly said that it is not a monarchy where there can be grants for favourite or spoilt children.
the throwing of fits and tantrums should be allowed and made to blow up in the face of outfits like the trs.
martyrhood is not available for the taking.
you have to show why there is a case for a smaller unit.
petulant outbursts against exploiters are not in the fitness of things.

the announcement of the initiation of the process of formation of telengana state has thrown every one concerned into a tizzy.
all are going back and forth and the blackmail element has been taken out;kcr is back in the real world,away from the win win dramatic world.no martyrdom,just plain talk it out.
you asked for it without any real idea about the reactions of the rest,now take it and handle it.
where are all the students now,will they go out and fight?
none will enact such dramas anymore anywhere.

if ysr had been alive,it is sure that kcr would have not had the chance to do what he is doing.
the people voted ysr back and with his death,kcr has begun his activism without waiting for the mandate that ysr received to run its course.

the administrative efficiency can improve if smaller areas are brought into existence.if the jurisdiction is small,there will be better coverage by the bureaucracy.
this argument can be made with facts and a smaller state can be evolved.
if the facts are not allowing a clear cut case to be made for the new unit to be formed,the demand will peter out.
while it might serve to remove the linguistic character of the presently existing states,the same demand might be made in other cases,the other big states have already been hived off.after andhra,it might be the backward areas of north karnataka which have a major disconnect with southern karnataka in terms of political weightage.the argument has already been made for coorg and also one extremely crazy demand for north tamilnadu.
beyond a point,the demands will lose their potential for better administration.
the crucial point will be the unmanageableness of parliament.
today,we have witnessed the jd(u) and the sp attacking the congress in parliament in the debate over the liberhan report.political compulsions will result in more cobbled alliances which will act more in the interest of the alliance than in the larger interest.
parliament will turn out to be a dysfunctional mess where a central spine will not be holding together in the face of hundreds of regional parties.given the unevenness of our social groups and formations,there will not be the ability to look forward with unity;there will only be the need to get together for the necessity of the moment.
the andhra pradesh government can designate a minister for telengana and can also ask for a 20 year period in which it would ensure even development all over the state.
at the end of twenty years,there can be a relook and if needed,a state can be formed.
