advani and hafiz saeed
murli manohar joshi;same case.
ashok singhal;similar.
65 others,free.
hafiz saeed, every pakistani might know,im not sure,is behind 26/11.yet,he roams free.
what is the difference between these two.
while advani did things that resulted in the deaths of hundreds of people, hafiz saeed did something which directly resulted in 180 people getting killed.
if advani shields behind the legal technicalities which require evidence which is not available, why cannot hafiz saeed do the same.
advani committed his diabolical acts in his own country whereas hafiz saeed committed acts in another country.
it is obvious that there is a linkage between the two acts.
so,what is all the fuss about arresting hafiz saeed when we cannot act against advani, who uses religious sentiments and creates bloodshed.
if advani can do it and walk free, why is the same not possible for hafiz saeed.
what is all the hectoring about?
if advani, whom we all know, incited hatred and still continues to occupy the prime posts of parliament, why cannot the objects of his hatred also reciprocate.
are we all stupid fools that this advani and his supporters can expect us to believe that they will rouse passions in mobs and then expect the mobs to walk back home, like going back from a movie.
why are all of us getting fooled by such people?
are we imbeciles who have no idea about how humans behave?
why then do we expect different standards for hafiz saeed.

moshe
the targetting of the synagogue and the hotels frequented by the western travellers and the indian elites must have been a strategic one.
the al qaeda has targets all over the world from which to choose to attack the west.having perpetrated attacks in indonesia and now in india, they might be planning the next major surprise and shock attack.the media seems to feed their appetite and stoke it too.
the l-e-t in this case might have allied with the al qaeda, two birds with one stone, both the purposes,of the l-e-t and the aq are served.
the aq has to be confronted by someone as the islamic clergy has not been able to do it.it is great that ram jethmalani has set the ball rolling.
the aq has turned into a business enterprise which it was anyway the natural offshoot of the business of the mujahideen conducted for the usa.
the communist government was headed by afghans, muslims also, hence, there was no total justification for a mujahideen.if it were the russians who were heading the afghan government, there would have been reasonable justification.
similarly,it is pakistanis themselves as well as the afghanis who are running governments in pakistan and afghanistan now.
in such a scenario, the aq seems to be an ego trip of some fundamentally confused people.
they must be asked whether their aims can only be achieved by attacking defenseless people.is that the way the great creator has to instruct his army to enforce his will, place bombs and run away, use guns to shoot down people who do not have weapons.if that is the way that the great creator works according to the aq,it is totally at odds with every thing that man has stood for, courage, honour and sacrifice.does this great creator of the aq want man to lose his honour and place bombs in public places and run away cowardly.
if it was only a fight against overwhelming odds, with israel, and the might of the established order, then, there might be a different interpretation of their acts.
there has to be a clear de linking between the fight against israel and the fight for islam.these two fights cannot be mixed up.if it is the might of the west that is being fought, that is what is being done and not a fight to enforce the wishes of allah.allah has given them a bad situation and they have to fight honourably to win the fight.this bad situation cannot be used to pretend that allah wants to enforce the religion that he has given these people, the people who have also been given the bad situation.all they have to do is fight out of the bad situation and fight for a honourable justice.why want to mix up that with trying to spread what allah has given them to help them,he has given other ways and means and other challenges to others around the world.why want to use a bad situation to wreck the whole, then there can never be a resolution of the bad situation.
the comedians of the west, the european union and the united states of america, who are now reeling from the doubts created by the financial meltdown, cannot ask the israelis to just stop new settlements.these jokers do not know the basics of justice.how can one group of people behave as if they are fundamentally different, with arrogance.they are not special in any way,if they are special, they must be the special curse that has come into the world by the wrath of god.these arrogant fools will have been sent by god to wreck the peace of the world.
the israelis and the al qaeda are both similar,in that they have used tough challenges given by god to assume that they have the right to ride roughshod over others.the special messages were given to overcome the special challenges, not for turning into arrogant idiots.
fight for your justice, but with at least the least sense of reason and humility.
have the israelis ever learnt to commiserate with the palestinians, the people who had to move out to accomodate the israelis who had been chased out from europe.
1967 was natural and so was the fight to defend its territiories, but there is nothing natural about using that to expand beyond pre 1967.
what stares the west in the face has been put down as the middle east conflict.a simple resolution to ask israel to stop the settlements seems like it is impossible for the great civilisers of the world.
the aq,meanwhile, uses this to implement the most simple and foolish reaction that a human could have done.the easiest response is the one with the least application of mind.
what ram jethmalani has told must be the only reason that the fight of the aq goes on.

taliban
how there is always chance for betterment,if one works hard.
how there is a quest to know others and find out their cultures, respect for every other person from every other community ie those that are not seen as rivals.
those who are rivals will still not be encumbered in any way other than the occasional skirmish.
if the establishment sides with one of the participants in the skirmish, there is enough organisation among any community to counter it in ways that are the best.
there is always compromise at the end, even after an inglorious incident.where the actions which begot the incident are analysed and dissected before pronouncing justice and reconciliation.
that is how the people live, always working and relaxing,in harmony and comradeship.
there is always the chance available to engage in politics,to badmouth some leader and to enforce one s will.
there is no need for the indian people to lose their senses, like the taliban, and waste their lives in always fighting, without purpose and without any sense of any goal.if a particular community feels that its way of life is more suited for the entire population, that community has the chance to spread the word or even float a political party.
that will not allow that community, any indian community,to lose its bearings, its dignity and go into free fall,to forget the joy of work and achievement,to forget the simple pleasures of life.
all under the forgetful impression of waging a war on behalf of god.
in the old days, the ultimate test for a king would have been to ensure justice for the minorities.
in these times, there are people who, though being in a majority,do not feel empowered enough, and want to ensure a totality.
the bjp fooled and cheated sections of the youth into thinking that there was a need to fear the minorities.
the taliban fools and cheats sections of its youth to forget enterprise and adopt war as its religion, for its religion.
the bjp will atleast now realise, that such fears are not shared by the majority, but are only shared by a minority itself which though pretends to be at the vanguard of the majority.
praveen togadia is in belgaum today, talking about going to colleges and talking to hindu girls to guard themselves against some love jehad.if indeed there is some kind of threat, proven to be true,it would not envision such a loose talk and behaviour, all it would envision is a need to provide some organisation and coherence, where there is a need.the behaviour of the togadias and the advanis is the bane of India.using some mistrust here and some incident there to twist and shout.
the taliban, unluckily for pakistan, has generated enough traction,in the journey to nowhere.
the journey into uniformity and boredom and frustration.
the bjp/rss,luckily for india, has derailed.

Taliban
an ultra orthodox islamic state is what is being fought for by the taliban, that is to bring a state into existence where the orders of god are fulfilled.whoever thinks that the orders of god can be interpreted differently must be killed, according to the taliban.if it is some people who follow a different version of the orders of god, then, they too can be killed, but possibly more brutally.
a people do not need sophisticated education to work out the fact that if there is a god which demands that the some people who do not kow tow to his prescribed ways be meted out punishment by his core following, then that god probably has no control over such some people.
humans in their quest for safety and security twist everything that was given by god in good faith into their own petty careers.the taliban are convinced that the strict enforcement of their version of islam is what is best for their country.it might be the best way for the country but if it is so,then it must easily be possible to take that information to all the people of the country.god never would have ordained that some of his creations would have to be killed by their peers on the journey to implement his wishes.communism with a religious background might be a reasonable possibility.if brute violence is the only way to bring about a perfect world according to the wishes of god,it is an acceptance that humans cannot strive for a perfect society without being herded around like sheep.how can man aspire to a perfect existence and a perfect world if he is not capable of reasoning about what is right and what is wrong and has to be constantly reminded of the aspirations by striking fear into him.is a man nothing better than a horse that he has to be shut down from other influences which might affect, uplift or corrupt him.that could be interpreted as an admission that man is a dumb creature that god created which has to be controlled by fear of severe punishment.the west can be said to be morally ahead in this fight because it is not strictly and compulsorily enforcing a decadent lifestyle whereas the taliban wants to strictly and compulsorily enforce an ultra orthodox lifestyle.
the convictions of a few and their quest to realise it result in trouble for the most.such a conviction that there is only one way and that it has to be achieved at any cost may have evolved from a search for identity and a sense of purpose.if the identity is at risk of being subsumed or lost as was the case with iran and now with eelam, such convictions come to be shared by the majority.in the case of the taliban and the islamists in pakistan, there is no danger to identity and there is lots of purpose at hand which is why the few are getting madder by the day in their desperation and are losing their basic idea of what god gave down to them.the ultimate indefensible players in this scenario are the so called islamists in kashmir who might be still working in some project to execute bombings in india.
there was some talk earlier this year that the west was beginning to come around to the view that they had to talk to the taliban, this could have been tried earlier.but, human equations dictate that there has to be an engagement before one or both sides come around to see reason.
is there a religion that stops a country or a people from feeling weak when going for the middle and reasonable way.not many countries have the option of behaving with common sense as not many religions give them that kind of strength.
iran was a fine example of a decent approach.
our prime minister was constantly attacked as being weak because we did things with common sense by our own so called religionists.

terror sleeper cells in the south
if there is a speaker who offends people of another religion, his speeches can be monitored and if the offence continues,a complaint with evidence can be submitted to the police.
the late eighties and the nineties witnessed violence and murders which damaged the situation with long term consequences.
it is a matter with a simple solution.
the same type of situation, but many times worse prevails in kerala.
a meeting between the concerned organisations and a thrashing out of all grievances must be initiated by the congress and the left, acting together to prevent the violence.

these are excluding the incidents in assam,j and k,and those by the naxalites.
one trend that might be made out is that the incidents are more in the second half of the year and more in the year when elections could have been due but there were none in 2004 an election year.
are we going to get a breather or is there going to be a stepping up.
if one looks at the incidents in 2003 and before, these trends might be confirmed.

In 2008,there have been blasts in panvel, navi mumbai, thane, malegaon and modasa which have been attributed to hindu fundamentalism.
in the election year of 2004,there were a spate of attacks in kashmir.
in the election year of 08-09,there have been a spate of attacks in the major cities but none in kashmir, there have been no major attacks in j and k since 2004.
in 1999,there was one major incident,ic 814 hijack,
in 2000,there was one major incident-red fort,
in 2001 there was one major incident-parliament,
in 2002,there was one major incident-akshardham,
in 2003,there was one major incident-mumbai,
in 2004-none,focus shifts to kashmir.
in 2005-there was one major incident-delhi,
in 2006-there was one major incident-mumbai,
two major attacks in 2007-samjhauta,hyderabad.
three major attacks in 2008-jaipur,ahmedabad,mumbai.
the final conclusion might be that from 1999-2003,the target was to attack places of symbolism-plane hijacking, red fort, assembly, temple, parliament, zaveri bazar, gateway of India.
from 2004-2008,it is all about creating terror and getting higher casualties.

Intentions of the terrorists
The terrorists might have felt that in the absence of the bjp from the political scene that they would lose their recruitment or existential legitimacy.
The other options could be that the terrorists want the bjp in power as they feel that the bjp is not even nearly equipped to handle issues of nationhood with maturity and wise leadership.
They might have felt that the bjp could be easily provoked into hasty acts as has been proved in the past,as a victim of the rhetoric that is the be all and end all of the bjps leadership.
The conclusion must be that the terrorists have identified the Congress as the organisation that is at the heart of India,as it exists,in the past and the future.
That is the simplest conclusion that anyone can arrive at,it does not require strategic analysts to state that.
it is obvious and that it needs to be stated reflects the present situation where the bjp has infiltrated the political sphere.
The bjps first major initiatives after reaching the portals of government was one to rewrite the constitution.
since it has developed the capability to misinform and rally the people towards itself,it has found itself in the government.
it could be said to be to the better prospects of pakistan that islamic fundamentalists have been sidelined in the democratic process.
it was the military dictatorship of zia ul haq,who is the lkadvani of pakistan, that infiltrated the ruling establishment in pakistan.
Benazir Bhutto s sacrifice lies at the heart of the possibilities of a turnaround in Pakistan.
Ghulam nabi azad stepped into the limelight from the backrooms and steered kashmir into normalcy, our uncorrupted armed institutions were the pillars around which the turnaround in kashmir was achieved.
the infiltration of the armed institutions by the fundamentalists in pakistan are at the heart of this final salvo by the terrorists.
Our own infiltrations and corruptions of the armed institutions was stopped at the earliest possible moment by the intelligence establishment and the ATS of Maharashtra.
Is the Indian civil war over
The Indian civil war was begun when lkadvani took out his rath yatra and kindled the historical faultlines.
This act reopened all the wars of the past which were open for misinterpretation by misguided and motivated groups and organisations.
The Indian Civil War phase 1 ended with the babri masjid demolition, having begun when a Congress government was absent at the centre, the next four years of a Congress government and the following three years of a Non Congress government witnessed a lull in the fractiousness.
With the ascendancy again of the fanatical forces in a situation of a leadership question in the Congress in 1998,phase 2 of the Indian Civil War began.
This lasted for close to six years when the fanatical forces were dealt an unexpected and a tumultuous reverse by the people.
The fanatical forces could never reconcile with this shock defeat and resorted to covert activities from that moment on.
The present terrorist attacks in Mumbai have brought the question of the Civil War into the consciousness of the people.
The people having witnessed the present attacks will have recalled all the events of the Civil War and the actions of the fanatical forces.
The fanatical forces will either shed their fanaticism and merge into the Congress party failing which phase 3 of the Indian Civil might be upon us.
The American civil war with full scale fighting lasted three years whereas ours has been marked by mob attacks on helpless people and retaliations by bombs placed in public places.

biggest farce on earth.
the al qaeda kills innocent non combatants by planting bombs, has killed tens of thousands in internecine warfare in afghanistan, pakistan and iraq.
the lashkar e toiba has killed thousands of kashmiris, the so called indian mujahideen randomly places bombs in public places.
these are the actions of people who are not able to summon the strength from their religion to rally themselves for a cause.
islam probably permitted the muslims to fight any persecutors.
the US is surely not persecuting the iraqis or the afghans.
the US is not setting out for war with the objective of converting everyone to christianity.
kashmir is not a case of religious persecution.
twisting political battles into religious ones and finally ending up killing a huge number of muslims and innocent non combatants is doing the biggest disrepute to islam, and these people are proud of it,which makes it the biggest farce on earth.

al qaeda threat
does this group have any achievable objective and a practical destination.what was their motive in attacking the twin towers.it can be guessed that it was to get the americans to leave saudi arabia where they have been based since the first gulf war.that doesnt make much sense because the americans were not occupying saudi arabia and neither were they committing atrocities there.the royal family in saudi arabia is the logical choice if that were the case.
this group has given a religious colour to political conflicts.a suicide bombing on supposed enemy soldiers can be justified.targeting and killing civilians is a shameful act.
if the group sincerely wants to resolve conflicts,it should address its broadcasts to muslim religious leaders .it should ask the imams and ayatollahs to issue calls to desist from targeting civilians wherever they may be.
every society has conflicts of various types.democracies have a lot of methods and options to resolve conflicts.the americans have blatantly interfered with democratic societies in south america.their intrusion into the middle east was facilitated by saddam and 9/11.having created the conditions for american interference,al qaeda set about fighting the occupiers.
al qaeda seems to be trying to win the mantle of a pan islamic fighting force and to anoint osama bin laden as a caliph of some sort.the project envisaged is similar to what hitler had set out to achieve.he targeted a community and went to war to rule the world.
these kinds of projects involve leaders with immense power in their hands.hitler was the undisputed leader in germany and osama had financial power.
these things happen because too much power has been allowed to be concentrated in one person.
indian democracy might seem to be wanting in tough situations but it is the best design for handling conflicts.the american model has allowed power to be vested in one man.
the american president had arguments of politics to back his actions whereas osama bin laden
has no argument for targetting and killing civilians which indicates cowardice and insanity.
