Loose Talk Of The Hindu Gets It More Readers, Lets Live With It

A writer called Shalini Singh writes in The Hindu:

http://www.thehindu.com/todays-paper/pm-ignored-my-note-to-hike-2g-entry-fee-to-rs-36000-crore/article4011385.ece

FROM THE ARTICLE,""""Mr. Chandrashekhar’s disclosure that he had submitted a note recommending a huge upward revision in the existing price of Rs. 1,651 crore for pan-India spectrum that had been discovered at 2001 rates, was in response to CPI leader Gurudas Dasgupta’s persistent questioning about the failure of the Cabinet Secretariat to act on a matter which had such huge financial implications for the country.""""

ALSO FROM TH E ARTICLE,"""""The timing of this note reveals that had the Prime Minister acted upon Mr. Chandrashekhar’s advice, the government could have easily prevented the scam, since this note was dated 5 weeks before the scam took place on January 10, 2008.""""

WHAT SCAM?

the writer, shalini singh, is obviously having no qualms or compunctions about what she does to bring her her salary at the end of the month. She and her company have decided to employ words loosely. This gets titillation and audiences. If there were no audiences, what is the point in living?

Is there any honour in living without a five or six figure salary? Is there  life at all without money?

Hence, The Hindu has decided to adopt a loose language and lifestyle.

This writer has also started appearing on TV now.

Meanwhile, The Hindu's sister publication, the Hindu BusinessLine, which caters to a different audience, presents different issues and different perspectives.

http://www.thehindubusinessline.com/industry-and-economy/info-tech/keep-off-mobile-radiation-issues-dot-tells-environment-ministry/article4035328.ece?homepage=true

The headline of this article tells that the department of telecom says multiple directives by different ministries can complicate matters.

In this article on fewer bidders for spectrum,

http://www.thehindubusinessline.com/todays-paper/tp-others/tp-editorial-feature/fewer-bidders-for-spectrum-may-hit-govt-plans-to-shore-up-revenue/article4032246.ece

the following lines are written,""""The short line-up of bidders for the upcoming spectrum auction, especially for CDMA, has raised concerns about the potential revenue implications for the Government."""

what we realize is that these are journalists who have no idea of a big picture, a whole picture.

or they have it, but cannot write about it, as the titillation and audiences will probably shrink.

hence, two years on, the readers of The Hindu have no idea about what revenue sharing is and whether it is equivalent to upfront proceeds from auctions.

whereas the Business Line tells that proceeds from auctions can be staggered, that is spread out.

so what is the big difference between revenue sharing and auction.

as things go on, Shalini Singh happily writes about A SCAM THAT TOOK PLACE, and she has certified that it took place on the particular date.

Our journalism has become shameless.

The Chief Justice of the Supreme Court spat at these modern-day beggars, when he referred to economic and legal illiteracy. Justice Kapadia was primarily referring to the mass murderer Vinod Rai.

Our journalists did not even pause for a second.

They go on, sinking deeper and deeper, into loose behavior.

all for that swanky car, and that cool apartment. our journalists need them all now, today.

if it is loose behaviour that gains them, so be it.

What was Justice Ganguly speaking on the day of his retirement, when he had turned his head skyward and spat high?

he was speaking about sachin tendulkar. such are the people who do anything for publicity.

we have allowed a lot of wrong people to occupy perches.

In today's Hindu, in the inside pages, in news from Other States, we get news about Haryana Govt's Clean Chit To Robert Vadra.

http://www.thehindu.com/news/states/other-states/haryana-clean-chit-to-vadra/article4034449.ece

The issue, when it started out, was the Main Story on the Front Page, on October 16, October 17, and October 18.

the cowardice of siddharth varadarajan

For this guy, the CAG is the avatar of the creator. whatever the CAG says is the divine gospel.

Such a spineless character such as Siddharth Varadarajan can never have been seen at the helm of any newspaper.

The Hindu is down to the capacity to do anything now.

These cowards are rootless and were going as long as they had no competition, running a decent newspaper, which all of us respected.

Now, with competition, the Hindu is feeling the hopelessness of its rootlessness.

In its heyday, and mostly in 2009, the newspaper alienated sections of TamilNadu which were keenly following the Eelam war with a shameless adulation of Rajapakse.

At the same time, the Times Of India came in and gave the Hindu a rude awakening.

With the stupor of losing everything, the Hindu has now become a nervous wreck, and its present editor has fallen to writing editorials such as these, in the hope of attracting the new readers.

http://www.thehindu.com/opinion/editorial/article3817238.ece

The present editor has no way of reporting the facts, as he is desperate and is a wreck.

hence, he resorts to crony capitalism, the same practice that he derides.

The dude, siddharth varadarajan, will be knowing now that capitalism ain't easy, and losing what uve built up ain't easy too.

But, no capitalist ever resorted to such a immoral position as is peddled today by the Hindu.

For siddharth varadarajan, the CAG is god.

the poor fellow is afraid that if he criticises the CAG, HE HIMSELF WILL BECOME A POOR FELLOW.

ALL THE BIG TALK EARLIER, AND NOW, THIS IS WHAT HAPPENS.

so, never talk too big, siddharth varadarajan. do not ever again take some comparison of some computer you bought in the US when you were a student, and then pretend to know everything about telecom.

what disease afflicts siddharth varadarajan

the poor fellow has revealed that he is pedestrian, and gainfully afflicted with foot-in-mouth disease, defined as the habit of making inappropriate statements.

http://www.thehindu.com/opinion/editorial/article3742967.ece

out of 10 comments for the article, two people have sought to drum some sense into the bozo, kaushik mehta, and tv sivakumaran.

however, the remaining eight prefer to remain uneducated and correspondingly loud and proud about it.

siddharth varadarajan, if he is to maintain sales, get his salary, and live peacefully, has to cater to the remaining eight.

any notion of talking sense is no more possible.

this is the stark truth of capitalism.

and then, characters like kejriwal and bhushan will come along and lead these uneducated tragedies.

why is our country stable.

the answer is that only about 1 million out of the 1000 million people living here read newspapers like The Hindu and watch channels like Times Now, NDTV, CNN IBN, Headlines Today.

The noise that the one million uneducated tragedies make will either make one laugh or cry.

the plummeting quality of THE HINDU

http://www.thehindu.com/todays-paper/article3625601.ece

the writer of the article says,

Mr. Behura, who had earlier also served under Mr. Raja, joined the DoT on January 1, 2008. Within 10 days, on January 10, 2008, after Mr. Behura’s approval on file, Mr. Raja illegally granted 122 Letters of Intent (LoIs) with linked 2G spectrum at 2001 rates which, the CAG’s estimates say, caused a revenue loss of Rs. 1.76 lakh crore.

this is trash and nothing else.

if the newspaper is reporting something, then it must report properly.

if it is giving an informed analysis, then it must analyse properly and present its analysis.

what we are getting is a pathetic neither here nor there, and it reflects the state of affairs of the editor of the newspaper. this editor, when he himself was just a writer, had resorted to bravado and bombast, while reporting on the 2g issue.

now, as the editor, it is turning into a joke, as the paper has no stance. it turns out that THE HINDU has tripped on itself and gone and landed into the fouled-up cooum.

standing up, drenched in muck, the editor, siddharth varadarajan, has decided to have some company, in the form of the writer of the article, shalini singh.

we really have to pity this writer.

it is quite easy to guess that siddharth varadarajan personally read the article and added the word illegally.

factually, or educatedly, in neither sense, does the usage of the word make sense.

we really have to pity the editor too.

the scoundrels

anna hazare
arvind kejriwal
kiran bedi
shaina or shiny who has taken to talking on tv
and all others who are a part of the so-called team anna.

scoundrel is defined as an unprincipled, dishonorable person. also as mean or base in nature. these descriptions can be termed as the most decent words that anyone can speak about these characters.

ideally, they should be termed as bastards, described as a vicious, despicable or thoroughly disliked person. further more perfectly described as something irregular, inferior, spurious or unusual. but, since the word has other meanings, the bastards escape from this description.

if these scoundrels do not form a party and try to get the people's mandate, then these scoundrels will be termed scum. if they do that, then they can try to shake off the tag of scoundrel, but it will not be shaken off easily.

scum is defined as a low, worthless or evil person.

The scum duo of prashanth bhushan and subramanian swamy will be enlarged to include all these scoundrels and they will become the scum of India.

At the moment, these scoundrels are talking without the least idea of life, dignity and honour.

The fellow, siddharth varadarajan, could not resist putting this emittance of the prime scoundrel on the front page of his paper.

http://www.thehindu.com/todays-paper/article3224220.ece

fellow is defined as a person of small worth or no esteem.

siddharth varadarajan is lord of all he surveys

The fellow says," After creating a furore over the war in Sri Lanka during the elections, the DMK's only concern after the results was how many and which cabinet positions the party would get in the new government."

According to this fellow, then, because of the war in sri lanka, the DMK should have given up bargaining for cabinet positions, and must have accepted whatever the Indian National Congress decided to give up.

In other words, this fellow states that the war in sri lanka and the war crimes committed by the sri lankan army, which are only now beginning to come to light, must have made the DMK  to suspend all its political activity.

This fellow says that the DMK must have turned into a sanyasi, doing nothing but waiting for whenever the war crimes are brought to light.

This fellow wants the DMK to suspend existence.

The fellow then goes on to prove that he has become lord of all he surveys.

He says that the statement by the sri lankan envoy will," only worsen the din."

The fellow says that the  “feelings” of the political parties in Tamil Nadu are a din, and that the statement by the sri lankan envoy will only worsen the din.

http://www.thehindu.com/opinion/editorial/article2999576.ece

din means a loud confused noise. noisy clamor.

this fellow describes the actions of the political parties of Tamil Nadu as a loud confused noise.

is siddharth varadarajan also watching porn

instead of analysing the judgement, as editor, he allows the publication of such a humorous article.

http://www.thehindu.com/opinion/op-ed/article2869622.ece

only someone who is watching porn can allow such humour in such a serious situation.

the calibre of our media is exposed for all to see.

only the Hindustan Times and the Times of India have written some articles that is up to the unprecedented situation.

The Hindu and its latest ad on television is exposed as a sad pretender.

is Siddharth Varadarajan also a fool

in the globalized world, where all of us are interlinked with the world economy, we have the weird, bizarre and dubious spectacle of a journalist siddharth varadarajan, who writes with absolutely no sense of what happened in the world with respect of telecom auctions. this guy has the loftiness to label as foolish, the statement by the telecom minister and the prime minister that there was zero loss.

http://www.thehindu.com/opinion/columns/siddharth-varadarajan/article1468962.ece

he tells that "the prime minister is peddling the fiction that companies like swan or unitech did not resell their spectrum but only expanded their equity base, when the sale of equity for a company which has no assets other than spectrum amounts to the same thing."

while we can commend siddharth varadarajan for finally some journalist taking up the details of this matter, he is again guilty of informing in instalments.

call it crony capitalism or capitalism. it is a business enterprise. all the government is interested in is widening the base of service providers. the government is aware of the complexity, and that telecom companies need enormous amounts to function, to make a profit, and to continue to make a profit. at present, this award-winning journalist is happy to give his readers an instalment of his wisdom.

indian democracy will continue to be corroded and eroded, exactly due to this crony journalism, where people are led into a direction by the writer presenting the facts, as he prefers, clouded, shrouded, half chewed out, quarter obfuscated, all while acting to be supremely good and pious and meritorious.

if there is a crony capitalist, then siddharth varadarajan is a crony journalist, who has assumed enought loftiness to label the government with terms like foolish and peddling fiction.

if this crony journalist has even 10 percent of the talent which we might mistakenly attribute to him, then he has to at least give a hint of how telecom auctions and their aftermath have panned out in the predecessor economies of the world.

we have to also add him to the list of illustrious fools of our country, who can summon righteousness , but never common sense and the ability to speak it as it is.

these crony journalists like siddharth varadarajan should realise that it is still not too late to realise hteir folly of acting smart and great.

as far as the congress is concerned, it should realise that there is no alternative to enrolling the real people in the country into the party. the real people vote for the only party that they know has a pan indian presence and that has the spirit of the people in its core being. but, they have to be reached out to in terms of the political developments. otherwise the crony politicians of the bjp and the crony journalists like sidharth varadarajan will twist everything with their instalment information.

Sunday, January 16, 2011

is Siddharth Varadarajan a silly fellow

only a silly fellow can state that," The drop in call rates has nothing to do with subsidised spectrum as Mr. Sibal would have us believe, but with competition, increases in productivity and the global ebb and flow of technological change and obsolescence which allowed Indian companies to buy 2G network equipment at a relatively inexpensive cost."

such authoritativeness will not be observed even in long-time telecom experts, who know all about the history and geography of telecom all over the world.

but, having won an award or two, Siddharth Varadarajan has begun to believe that his opinion is weighty enough to wade into every matter. he says the drop in call rates has something to do with competition. but the award-winning journalist does not understand that with auction, there wont be competition.

he says that he bought   "a no-brand, 386 chip, 40MB hard drive heavyweight monster whose battery lasted about an hour if I was lucky" in 1990 for $1000. the award-winning journalist does not say whether what he bought then was a decently best in class product, or a worst in class product. he compares the technologies over a range of twenty years. the award-winning journalist does not realise that even after these twenty years, between when he first bought a laptop and now, a laptop has not reached more than 5-10% of our population.

today, when laptops are being distributed to rural students, the internet availability is a consequence of the 2g network that sustains the whole nation's technology leap.

what we have here is a kind of journalist, who gives some bit of information at some point to his/her readers, who have something to chew on, for that point in time. some later bit of information is given at some later point, or not given, driven by the flow of the political discourse. there is no appeal, award-winning siddharth varadarajan feels, in giving his audience not what they want to know, but what they need to know. if in the process, his newspaper begins to be identified with the government, then he feels that only rivals will benefit, the rivals who are probably seen as telling the truth, even as they only mislead and twist and misrepresent, half truths and quarter histories, as the character called aditya sinha was doing at the new indian express.

what we have here is the middle classes' need for a scam and greed to witness the fall of the politicians. some in our middle classes and upwardly mobile have now turned to religion in a wholesale manner, they are so pious with respect of their wants and needs that they are so beautifully devout, such sticklers to the rituals and superstitions, so many fears torment them, as they want their new way of life to go on forever.

what can the hindu do in such a scenario of utmost religiosity aimed at utmost material bliss. the packaged advice of sri sri and the blissfully beautiful life. the hindu also could not resist this fall and disgrace, of keeping this small section of our population humoured in its fallacies, because it has the buying power that the hindu needs, without that buying power, the hindu will wither away. there is no point in repelling the moneyed sections, by giving them something which they would not quite like, which is the truth.
