the dead sea has been withdrawing into itself.in the early 1900s,it was 1287 feet below sea level.in the 2000s its gone down to 1379 feet below sea level.at a rate of 3.3 feet per year,it is estimated that it will be 1815 fet below sea level in the year 2500.a project is underway to bring sea water from the red sea to the dead sea.
